So who is Maxie Hughes?
Maxie started her career as a Hair Stylist some years ago when she left Theatre to become a Hairdresser.
She started to work for Toni and Guy in Oxford and once her training had been completed she moved to London to work for Toni and Guy Essentials in Covent Garden. She then went on to work at Urban Retreat in Harrods.
Wanting to use her skill in a more creative environment she returned back to theatre, and joined the company of Fiddler on the Roof at the Savoy Theatre in London’s West end as there Head of Hair.
During this time she added make up artistry to her skill set and then went on to work as a Hair and Makeup Artist.
Maxie has worked at both the ENO and the National Theatre and on many west end Musicals, Hairspray, Zorro, Love Never Dies , Spamalot, Dirty Dancing and Thriller to name but a few.
Maxie has also toured around the UK and abroad in both Europe and the US with the Rocky Horror show, Batman Live and Strictly come dancing the professionals tour, this leading on to some work in television on the Strictly come Dancing TV show and others
More recently she has graduated into the film world working as a Hair and Makeup Artist completing her first feature film last year.
During her career Maxie has undergone training at the London school of fashion and has worked with some extremely talented people in the theatre and film world all who have inspired, stimulated and encouraged her to be the hair and makeup artist she is today.
